Two sizes cover most apps. iPhone at 1290 by 2796 and iPad at 2064 by 2752. Everything else on this page is an accepted alternative or a smaller tier that Apple fills automatically by scaling your largest set down

Apple groups iPhones by display class. You only have to cover the top of the chain, the 6.9 inch tier, or the 6.5 inch tier if you prefer. Every class below it is optional and gets a scaled copy of the nearest larger set when you leave it empty

Troubleshooting
Why App Store Connect rejects screenshots
- Wrong dimensions. The upload must match an accepted size exactly, one pixel off fails. Export at the exact size instead of resizing by hand
- Alpha channel present. A PNG with transparency is rejected even at the right size. Flatten before uploading
- Wrong slot. A 6.9 inch image uploaded to the iPad slot fails the size check. Match each file to its device class
- Mac aspect ratio. Mac screenshots must be 16:10, a 16:9 capture from a non-Mac display fails

What size should App Store screenshots be in 2026?
For iPhone, 1290 by 2796 pixels, the 6.9 inch tier which also accepts 1260 by 2736 and 1320 by 2868. For iPad, 2064 by 2752 pixels, which also accepts 2048 by 2732. Apple scales these down to smaller devices automatically
How many screenshots can I upload?
One to 10 per device size, in PNG or JPEG, with no alpha channels or transparency
Do I need separate screenshots for every iPhone model?
No. Apple's own guidance is to provide only the highest resolution screenshots required, and they scale down to smaller device sizes automatically. One 6.9 inch set covers every modern iPhone unless you want per tier control
Do iPad screenshots have a required size?
Yes. If your app runs on iPad you must provide 13 inch screenshots at 2064 by 2752 or 2048 by 2732, portrait or landscape. Smaller iPad tiers are optional and scale from the 13 inch set
What sizes do App Store preview videos need?
App previews use different dimensions from screenshots: 886 by 1920 for modern iPhones and 1200 by 1600 for iPads, at up to 30 fps in H.264, 15 to 30 seconds long. The app preview video maker page has the full spec
